Platform limits and recommendations
Like any content platform, LMS has its technical limitations and format specifications. Checking the section related to the Activities you will find indications about the recommended sizes and formats for the contents, and some style tips. In this article you can check the technical requirements of the platform. Limitations Limit Comments LMS Storage 75 GB Total storage limit Activity Size 1 GB per Activity For videos and SCORM/xAPI Grouped reports of users in a Sprint 300.000 entries Translations Descriptions up to 1,000 characters and titles of to 500 characters Character limit Due to third party reasons, neither LMS nor the other Netex tools can give support on third-party add-ons or applications. If there is an issue or incompatibility with any of them, we recommend that you contact their provider to try to solve it. Specifications Recommended browsers (two latest versions): Microsoft Edge (Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, iOS) Google Chrome (Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, iOS) Mozilla Firefox (Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, iOS) Opera (Windows, OS X, Linux, Android, iOS) Apple Safari (OS X, iOS) Technical requirements: Cookies allowed Javascript activated Pop-up blocker disabled Minimum screen resolution 320x480 pixels Maximum screen resolution 2048x1080 pixels LTI version 1.1 Network configuration: Internet access (SaaS) required Firewall: open ports HTTP 80 and HTTPS 443 (with SSL enabled) on the IP of the LMS server Proxy: not applicable TLS 1.2 SAML 2.0 Minimum requirements (mobile app): Play LMS supports iOS 14.7 or higher, and Android 5.0 or higher Share supports iOS 15 or higher, and Android 5.0 Languages available: Bulgarian Catalan Chinese Czech Dutch English French Galician German Greek Hungarian Italian Japanese Korean Polish Portuguese Portuguese (Brazil) Romanian Russian Simplified chinese Slovak Slovenian Spanish Turkish Ukrainian Recommendations Sprints The list of Sprints can be displayed in both card and list format, but both formats support paging so the number of Sprints hosted on the platform will not be affected by the performance of loading both lists. Sprints can be searched by name and/or tags regardless of the number of Sprints available. Published Sprints will be displayed in the student portal, both those that are available and those that are expired. Therefore, the "Completed" carousel will display all Sprints. So the user experience can be drastically affected if a periodic cleaning of expired Sprints is not performed. Channels The channel search process is performed by name only. Therefore, a larger number of channels will make channel management more difficult. Bloques de Misión There is no limitation on the number of mission blocks, the recommended limitation is based only on the mode of student usage and the presentation of those blocks. LMS is a platform based on microlearning, dividing related training contents into small learning modules. This process is based on the fact that fragmented contents of short duration are better adjusted to the attention span in which the human brain stays focused. Therefore it is not recommended that a Sprint contain more than 20 mission blocks. Activities There is an optimal number of activities for the correct operation of the platform. When a Sprint contains a greater number of these, its performance can be exponentially affected. It is recommended to the author that the number of activities within a Sprint, regardless of the number of Mission Blocks, should not exceed 40 in total. Gamification The points awarded by the platform to users once given cannot be deleted. They are points earned by students, therefore, even if the content that awarded these points is deleted, they will belong to the user indefinitely. Reports Aggregated reports in LMS run equally for all instances, users and Sprints within the platform. In the past, we have had performance issues that negatively affect the user experience on the platform. To avoid this problem and as a mitigating measure, the baseline take time for aggregated reporting has been adjusted to 6 months by default. This means that reports will only be calculated for those Sprints whose start date is within the last 6 months. This date can be changed from time to time to obtain a specific report. Our recommendation is not to perform this action unless necessary and in which case, do it occasionaly. Warnings External Links Netex disclaims its responsibility to publish all content that is not hosted within the platform. Likewise, we recommend that such content be opened by default in a new window to avoid display problems in an embedded element. Videos Netex disclaims its publishing responsibility for all audiovisual content that is not hosted within the platform (Vimeo, YouTube...). These platforms and its content in particular are the responsibility of their creators, and therefore also depend on the restrictions that these providers apply to their products: restrictions on embedded publishing, dynamic links... SCORM/xAPI Netex recommends: Use HTML5 to avoid flash incompatibilities across platforms Scaling of the percentage points, since a content will return the completeness percentile, but note that the Learning product will only compute the number of points obtained Use these contents only in full screen to avoid embedding errors and improve their compatibility, due to the size that is lost in other devices, especially on screens of 5 inches or less, such as mobile devices. Content must always send a status that corresponds to the requirements of the Sprint If a sprint includes SCORM content, the execution of the sprint by many users simultaneously must be taken into account. Ideally, this type of Sprint should be executed by a controlled number of users at the same time for a better experience on the platform Please note that, due to incompatibilities in the authentication process, it is not possible to view PDF files embedded within a SCORM from the mobile application, links will not be functional. This limitation does not apply to xAPIs. Audio The audio player shown is the only means offered by LMS for the correct playback of imported audios. For other alternatives, please contact your Learning Consultant or KAM to inform you of possible alternatives or some different use cases of the platform by other clients. Images Images uploaded by authors for the creation of Sprints, Mission Blocks and Activities should be properly edited to minimize their weight. If a Sprint contains many images, ideally the weight should be kept to a minimum, even if some quality must be sacrificed, to ensure functionality and the uploading process. PDF When attaching a PDF file to a File Activity, the student accesses it through a PDF viewer built into the browser itself. The use of certain plugins, extensions or third-party applications built into the browser may cause conflicts with the viewer and prevent access to the file. Due to third party reasons, Netex cannot provide support on third party add-ons or applications, so we are unable to resolve this type of issue. If this problem occurs, we recommend: Clear your browser cache and cookies, and try accessing the file again. This way you can check if any of these are creating the conflict. If the error persists, check the plugins or third-party applications installed in the browser, looking for the one that is causing the incompatibility. At your own risk you can try disabling it and try to access the file. If you can then view it, you have found the cause of the problem. We recommend that you contact the developer of the tool to resolve the incompatibility. We have received notification that the Adobe Acrobat extension for Google Chrome may create this type of incompatibility and prevent access to PDF files in the viewer. If you are experiencing this error, please check if you have this extension installed in your browser.

Upgrades related to FUNDAE
FUNDAE stands for the Fundación Estatal para la Formación en el Empleo, a state foundation in charge of promoting and coordinating the implementation of policies on vocational training in the field of employment. This formation has the mission of training people for work and updating their skills throughout their professional career, and is financed with resources coming from the vocational training contribution to Seguridad Social. FUNDAE manages the Formación Bonificada, a tool that allows workers in a company to develop their professional career with training that can be subsidized up to 100% of its totality. This is given thanks to a credit granted to companies to invest in training for their workers. The Formación Bonificada is a key factor in learning programs within the company, so LMS is constantly developing and implementing improvements and new features to ease the integration with FUNDAE. All of them are listed in this article, which will be updated. Accessibility level AA The WCAG 2.1 standard, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), consists of a set of technology guidelines and success criteria to help create accessible web content for people with disabilities, ensuring that resources are sufficiently accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of any disabilities they have. This regulation sets a series of levels that determine the degree of accessibility of a portal. Regarding FUNDAE, the public administrations determine that it is mandatory to comply with at least an AA level. The LMS interface complies with the AA accessibility regulations thanks to different features and tools, such as the Accessibility Options in the LMS, detailed in this article. Integration with Microsoft Teams LMS also has a direct integration of the training with the Microsoft Teams messaging application. It is possible to create and associate a chat room to a Sprint training, and the summouned students will be automatically added. This way everyone can use it to communicate directly with each other and raise their contributions, doubts, suggestions... In addition to improving the dynamics of the training, this integration allows the retrieval of data from Microsoft Teams to create the attendance report required by FUNDAE. You can check this article to learn more about the integration with Microsoft Teams. New Reports In the Learner Manager portal, the Reports feature improves its functionality incorporating new types of reports, providing more information about the outcome of the training and the behavior of the students. Among them, the Survey Report provides student feedback on the course through a satisfaction quizz. And the Activity and Connections Report tells us exactly how much time each student spent on the training, and when he was logged on. In addition to check the results through the platform, these reports can be downloaded in CSV format through the History Reports for data exchange with FUNDAE. Find more information on how to generate and download these reports in this article. Certificates The Certificate feature allows you to certify the student's progress in the formation. It is possible to assign a certificate template to any Training, and once the student successfully completes it, he can download his certificate at any time, with the course data and the date he completed it, from their own profile in the portal. The templates can have a customized design for each training, including the information related to the participation with FUNDAE. In addition, a new field in the Progress Report allows the administrator to know which students have downloaded the Certificate and when they have done so. You can check this article to learn more about this functionality. Complete an activity in the preview mode We have also changed the way to complete an activity when you are in the Preview mode of the course editor. So far, although it is a preview, it was necessary to meet all the criteria of the activity to complete it. This was an inconvenience if you wanted to test the activity quickly. From now on, in Preview mode activities are completed by simply opening them. This makes it easier to navigate quickly between content, especially if there are milestones, activities that unlock access to others. If you still want to test the function of the activity requirements, you can do so in LMS, creating a test training and enrolling your own user. This is complemented by another feature added previously, the Unlock All Milestones button at the bottom, to allow immediate access to all content without completing other activities, making the process easier for the inspectors.

Courses within Patways with different Catalogs
What happens when there is a Course within a Pathway that belongs to a different catalog? Catalogs are one of the most important tools to take advantage of Multi-organization in LMS. Let's remember that this allows you to manage different groups of users as if they were organizations within the same entity (the learning platform) and to distribute the training content among them. To do this you you use Catalogs, groups of courses or pathways that have a link between them. Each catalog can be assigned to one or more organizations, so that every time you include a content in that catalog, all the users of the subscribed organizations will have access to it. Course catalogs But what happens when you have a course assigned to a catalog, and you include it in a pathway that does not belong to that catalog? In other words, when course and pathway belong to different catalogs, will the users who had access to the course now have access to the pathway as well? The answer is no. No matter how many courses are assigned to other catalogs, if the pathway itself does not belong to any of them, users will not have access. The catalogs to which the courses belong do not affect the pathway. The only way for a organization to have access to the pathway is to assign the pathway itself to its catalog. Thinking logically, there is a hierarchy between courses and pathways: courses belong to a pathway, they are within it. Therefore the access to the course must not merge or overlap with that of the pathway. Otherwise, any pathway that includes that course would automatically be visible to users with access to the course, even if they do not have access to the pathway. This would become a sort of "back door" through which users could sneak into the contents of other catalogs. Course catalogs And in the opposite case, what happens when you have a pathway assigned to a catalog, and you include courses that do not belong to that catalog? Will users who have access to the pathway also have access to the courses? The answer is yes. By the same logic, if the courses belong to the pathway, if they are within it, then they will "inherit" their access. In this case, the pathway will be the "front door" that will allow users who belong to the catalog to access content that they would not otherwise be able to access. However, the courses do not automatically belong to the same catalogs as the pathway. The courses keep working independently under their own configuration, and are only part of the catalogs assigned to them. The only way to access them is: directly, if you have access to any of their catalogs through the pathway, if you have access to its catalog

Issue generating Response report: Batching statement
Issue In case you have a Sprint or Course in LMS that includes activities created in Author that generate response data: single choice, multiple choice... When trying to export a Detailed Response Report, if the CSV file is blank or incomplete, it could be caused by a data submission method called Batching statement. Context The submission of statements that a content wants to send to an LRS can be done individually or in batches, that is, more than one statement in the same request. This is known as Batching statement, Batch of statements or Multistatement. If you are potentially going to send a significant number of statements in a short period of time, it is better to do it in batches to improve response times, reduce HTTP requests and the elapsed time for sending. In other words, the Batching statement is used to optimize the communication between the content and the LRS by reducing the number of requests. Cause Currently the LMS acts as an intermediate proxy between the content and the internal LRS. And unfortunately the LMS does not support the Batching statement. This means that if the activity created in Author is configured to send batch statements, the data cannot be retrieved, and therefore the Detailed Response Report cannot be generated. Solution In this case to retrieve the data flow and reports, the best solution is to disable the Batching statement in the activity. To do this, access the content created in Author, and in the Unit settings look for the Advanced section. Here you find the option Send 'xapi statements' in batches (batching statement). If you disable the flag and export the activity again, it will work only with individual requests. When importing it back into the Sprint or Course, the Detailed Response Reports should be generated correctly. If the issue remains, the problem is caused by something else. Access the Support page to find more information in the Solutions section, or report the issue to an agent.
